Woven Gloom, a night elf demon hunter formerly known as the rogue Woven Orson, carries the weight of her transformation and a complex past. Marked by white skin, striking neon fel green facial markings and glowing eyes, and black bone horns, she also bears living vines in her hair and as jewelry, a subtle nod to her abandoned night elf heritage. Pragmatic and quietly determined, remnants of her rogue days, she fights with focused efficiency, though the burden of wielding fel magic and the bittersweet memory of her twin sister, the druid Knittery, often lend her a brooding demeanor. Despite a lingering sense of being the less favored sibling, Woven is a capable warrior, her path a sacrifice that now leaves her hesitant to reconnect with her only living family.
Height: 6 foot 7 inches tall
Build: Lean & athletic
Hair: Black with vines that change color with her mood.
Notable Traits & Features: She is a striking night elf distinguished by her black bone horns and fel green serpent markings on her face and shoulders. Vines with mood-shifting oak leaves adorn her head, with smaller ones across her forehead connecting to longer ones on her left side, which also bears faint scratch scars. Her long, black "Sombra" styled hair flows over her left shoulder, partially revealing small hoops in her ears. She has a pale white complexion with a hint of grey and long, thin eyebrows.
Woven Gloom carries herself with a quietly determined air, a subtle intensity that hints at the sacrifices she's made. Her pragmatism, honed during her days as a rogue who favored effectiveness over flair, still dictates her actions. She approaches the fight against her enemies with a focused efficiency, her movements precise and her strikes calculated, a testament to her dedication to minimizing unnecessary suffering.
Yet, beneath this exterior lies a soul that is undeniably haunted. The weight of wielding fel magic and the memories of her former life cast a shadow over her demeanor, often lending her a brooding quality. Though she maintains a slightly distant stance with most, a secret yearning flickers within her, particularly when the thought of her twin, Knittery, surfaces. The contrast between their paths, and the lingering awareness of being the less favored sibling, adds a layer of complexity to her reserved nature.
Despite any lingering insecurities from her past, Woven Gloom possesses an understated strength. She doesn't seek accolades or admiration, but her competence and unwavering commitment to the fight speak for themselves. She is a warrior forged in sacrifice, her personality a blend of a rogue's practicality and a demon hunter's burdened resolve.
Woven Gloom, formerly Woven Orson, was a female night elf rogue, and she is the older twin sister of Knittery Orson, who became a druid. Woven was born a few minutes before Knittery. Despite this slight difference in age, Knittery was often the favored one within their family.
Growing up, Woven, while skilled and capable, often felt somewhat overshadowed by her sister's natural affinity for the natural world and her seemingly effortless connection to Elune. While Knittery embraced the traditional paths of night elf society, Woven found herself drawn to the more pragmatic and sometimes shadowy skills of a rogue, perhaps feeling a need to carve her own distinct path.
Driven by a fierce desire to protect her people from the encroaching Burning Legion and frustrated with the traditional ways of warfare, Woven became drawn to Illidan Stormrage's radical approach of fighting fire with fire.
She underwent the painful ritual to become a demon hunter, sacrificing her eyesight for spectral sight, though this sense didn't come naturally to her. To compensate, Gloom dedicated herself to the meticulous study of her enemies, learning their anatomy and weaknesses, favoring precise and efficient strikes to minimize bloodshed – a stark contrast to the often brutal nature of fel magic.
During the time she was imprisoned with other demon hunters, a weariness of the endless fighting settled upon her. In the quiet of confinement, memories of her past surfaced, particularly those of her family. Her only living relative is her twin sister, Knittery Orson, a night elf druid. Gloom sees a profound irony in a demon hunter and a druid being siblings, a constant reminder of the divergent paths they now walk. This is why she chose to keep the surname "Gloom," a symbol of the darkness she now embodies and the chasm between her and her sister.
Knittery is aware that her sister is out there but patiently waits, believing Gloom will come to her in her own time. Gloom, however, is held back by nervousness. The weight of her transformation and the darkness she now carries makes her hesitant to face her sister, fearing judgment or the contamination of Knittery's peaceful, nature-bound life.
