Pattern Notes

It will be assumed you know to skip a stitch on the last round you worked when doing a front post stitch or a back post stitch no matter where the stitch is worked. If it is to be done otherwise it will be mentioned in that round.

For The Heart Stitch The heart stitch is worked with 2 tr in the tr bobble. However if its not full enough for you work 3 tr in the tr bobble of each part of the heart stitch.

Directions

Round 1: With CA ch5, join with a sl st to 1st ch to make loop, ch3, 2dc in loop, * ch2, 3dc in loop * repeat from * 3 times, ch2, join with a sl st to top of beg ch3. Mark 2nd dc of each group with a removable stitch marker. 12dc, 4 ch3 sps

Round 2: ch3 counts as a dc, dc in next 2 sts, * (2dc, ch2, 2dc in ch2 sp), dc in next 3 sts * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st in top of beg ch3. Finish Off. Mark middle stitch of each side. 28dc, 4 ch3 sps

Round 3: Join CB with a standing sc in any ch2 sp, 2sc in same ch sp, (sc in next 2 sts, fptr around st marked in rnd 1, sc in next st, fptr around same st you did prev fptr, sc in next 2 sts), 3sc in next ch2 sps * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once ore. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. Finish Off. Make sure to remove the stitch markers you placed in rnd 1 and that the stitch markers from round 2 is still in front of work. 32sc, 8fptr

Round 4: Join CA with a standing dc in the middle sc of 3sc group of prev rnd, dc, ch2, 2dc in same st as joining, * (dc in next 4 sts, fptr around the st you marked in rnd 2, dc in next 4 sts), 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next st * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st to beg dc. Finish Off. Remove all stitch markers. Mark the fptr you made in this round as well as the st before AND after the fptr on each side. 48dc, 4fptr

Round 5: Join CB with a standing sc in any ch2 sp, 2sc in same sp, * (sc in next 4 sts, fptr around of fptr from rnd 3, sc in next 3 sts, fptr around fptr of rnd 3, sc in next 4 sts), 3sc in next ch sp * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st to 1str sc. Finish Off. Make sure that the stitch markers from round 4 is still in front of work. 56sc, 8fptr

Round 6: Join CA with a standing dc in the middle sc of 3sc group of prev rnd, dc, ch2, 2dc in same st as joining, * (dc in next 6 sts, fptr in 3 st of rnd 4 you marked in rnd 4, dc in next 6 sts) 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next st * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st to 1st dc. Finish Off. Remove all stitch markers. Mark the middle fptr on each side. 64dc, 12fptr

Round 7: Join CB witrh a standing sc in any ch2 sp, 2sc in same ch sp, * (sc in next 8 sts, fptr around fptr of rnd 5, sc in next st, fptr around fptr of rnd 5, sc in next 8 sts), 3sc in next ch sp * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. Finish Off. Make sure that the stitch markers from round 6 is still in front of work. 80sc, 8fptr

Round 8: Join CA with a standing dc in the middle sc of 3sc group of prev rnd, dc, ch2, 2dc in same st as joining, * (dc in next 10 sts, fptr around fptr you marked in rnd6, dc in next 10 sts), 2dc, ch2, 2dc in next st * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st to 1st dc. Finish Off. Remove all stitch markers. 96dc, 4fptr

Round 9: Join CB with a standing sc in any ch2 sp, 2sc in same sp, * (sc in next 12 sts, fptr2tog over the 2 fptr from rnd 7, sc in next 12 sts) 3sc in next ch sp * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. Finish Off. 108sc. 4 fptr2tog

Round 10: Join CA with a sl st in the middle sc of 3sc group of prev rnd, heart st is same st as joining, *ch5, sk 6 sts, sl st in next st, heart st in same st as sl st * repeat from * 15 times, ch5, sk 6 sts, sl st in beg sl st. Finish Off. 16 heart stitches, 16 ch5 sps

Round 11: You will be working in the skipped stitches of round 9 and in front of the ch5 sps. Join CB with a standing dc in 1st sk st after 1st heart st, dc in next 5 sts, ch1, sk heart st making sure its in front of the chsp, [dc in next 6 sts, ch1, sk heart st making sure its in front of the ch sp] twice, * ch3, [sk heart st making sure its in front of the ch sp, dc in next 6 sts, , ch 1] 3 times, sk heart st * repeat from * 3 times. Join with a sl st to 1st dc. Place a stitch marker in each ch3 sp 96dc. 12 ch1 sps, 4 ch3 sps

Round 12: The ch1 sp from prev rnd is counted as a st in this round. ch3 counts as a dc, dc in next 26 sts, * (2dc, ch2, 2dc in ch sp), dc in next 27 sts * 3 times then ( ) once. Join with a sl st to top of beg ch3. Make sure the stitch marker from previous round is between the 2nd & 3rd dc of each corner. 124dc, 4 ch3 sps

Round 13: ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next 3 sts, bphdc around 1st tr bobble of heart st, sc in next 4 sts, * ( [bphd around tr bobble of heart st, sc in next 3 sts, bphdc around tr bobble of heart str, sc in next 2 sts ] 3 times, sc in next 2 sts, bphdc in tr bobble of heart st, sc in next st, 3dc in ch sp marked in rnd 11, sc in next st, bphdc around tr bobble of hear st,) sc in ext 4 sts * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) once more. Join with a sl st in 1st sc. 92sc, 32bphdc You may want to mark the 2nd dc of 3 dc group on each corner so you can find the corner easier for the next round.

Round 14: ch3 counts as a dc, dc in next 29 sts, * (tr, ch2, tr in next st), dc in next 33 sts * repeat from * 3 times, then ( ) , dc in next 3 sts. Join with a sl st to top of beg ch3. Finish Off. 144dc
