Booster Hexagon One

ROUND 1: With CA ch4, join with a sl st to 1st ch to form a loop, ch3 counts as a dc, 11 dc in loop, join with a sl st to top of beg ch3. Finish Off. 12dc The side facing you is the RS – mark this if you need to.

ROUND 2: With CB join with a bpsc, bpsc in next 11 sts, join with a sl st to 1st st. 12bpsc Finish Off.

At this point you will be working each petal separately. You will be skippng the 1st st when you turn as the ch3 you make before turning is considered the 1st st of that row.


Petal 1, 2, & 3

ROW 1: Join with a sl st on any st, ch3 counts as a dc, dc in same st, 2dc in next 3 sts. Ch3 counts as a dc for next row, turn. 8dc

ROW 2: sk 1st st as described above, dc2tog 3 times, dc in last st. Ch3 counts as a dc for next row, turn. 3 dc2tog, 2 dc

ROW 3: sk 1st st as described above, dc3tog, ch3, sl st into next st. Finish Off. 1 dc3tog, 2 ch3

Petal 2 & 3 you will join with a sl st in the bpsc from round 2 after previous petal.

Prepping for petals 4, 5, & 6

Turn your work to the wrong side – the side facing away from you when you where making the 1st 2 rounds before starting the petals. Stretch the petals a bit & find the 'middle' st. Mark it with a stitch marker on each petal. You need these sts for petals 4, 5, & 6.

Join CB with a sl st in any marked st making sure to work with the WS facing, *ch4, sl st in next marked st * 3 times with the last sl st being worked in same st as beg sl st. Finish Off.

Petals 4, 5, & 6

These petals you will be working with the RS facing you.

ROW 1: Join CB with a sl st in any ch4 sp you made, ch3, 7 dc in same ch4 sp, ch3 counts as a dc for next row, turn. 8dc

ROW 2: sk 1st st as described above, dc2tog 3 times, dc in last st. Ch3 counts as a dc for next row, turn. 3 dc2tog, 2dc

ROW 3: sk 1st st as described above, dc3tog, ch3, sl st into next st. Finish Off. 1 dc3tog, 2 ch3

Petals 5 & 6 will be worked in the remaining ch4 sps.

Making The Hexagon

You will be working in Petals 4, 5, & 6 for this next round.

ROUND 1: Making sure the right side of the motif is facing you join CC with sl st in last st of petal row 1, * ch3, sl st in 1st st of next petal in row 1, ch6, sl st in last st of same petal row * 3 times with last sl st in same place as beg sl st. Make sure the petals are in front of the ch sps before moving on. 3 ch3 sps, 3 ch6 sps, 6 sl st

ROUND 2: sl st into ch 3 sp, ch4 counts as a tr, tr, ch2, 2tr in same ch sp, * (2dc, 2tr, ch2, 2tr, 2dc in next ch6 sp), 2tr, ch2, 2tr in next ch3 sp * 2 times, then ( ) once. Join with a sl st to top of beg ch4. 24tr, 12dc, 6 ch2 sps

ROUND 3: ch3 counts as a dc, dc in next st, * 2dc, ch2, 2dc in ch2 sp, dc in next 6 sts * 6 times – omitting last 2 sts. Join with a sl st in top of beg ch3. 60dc, 6 ch2 sps

ROUND 4: This round we will be working in the dc3tog of petals 1-6 & the ch2 sps. The petals should line up with the ch2 sps from previous round. If it helps you put a st marker through the dc3tog AND the ch2 sps. They will be worked thru together in this round. Booster Hexagon Two

ROUND 8: You will be working in rnd7 EXCEPT when working in petal where it says to. You will not be skipping any stitches – working in the petal adds 1 st to each side. ch1, sc in same st as joining, sc in next st * 3sc in ch2 sp, sc in next 5 sts, sc in marked sp from rnd 5, sc in next 5 sts * 6 times – omitting last 2 sts.
