The Plant Collection Legacy Challenge
I’ve been thinking of doing a legacy challenge focusing on the plant collection. In a lot of my other families they would slowly but surely get these plants as time went on. Plants are also a great way to earn extra money as the legacy progresses. Hopefully I haven’t made this too hard.
REMEMBER! This is meant for fun! If you don't finish something in a generation, don't worry about it! Just forget it, or try again in a later generation.

RULES
You must have at least 1 of each plant for each generation planted somewhere on your lot. Any level of evolution is fine.
Your starting sim & future heirs must stay on the same lot for the entire 10 generations.
No money cheats - the only exception is if you choose to have a 50 x40 or bigger lot. Use freerealestate cheat to get the lot for free.
Recommended ‘cheat’ – each generation (starting generation 2) ‘gift’ the heir with the free services reward from the points rewards. It will be as if they inherited this.
You are limited to the starting funds of 1 sim when starting.
If you build a house – a tiny home is fine.
If you find a plant for a future generation, plant it – it will be less work in the future.
Do not do any grafting until you need to for the plant needed for that generation. Grafting is available in level 5 of the gardening skill.
Complete the aspiration for that generation unless otherwise stated.
Max out the career for that generation unless otherwise stated.
You do not need to marry anyone or be in a relationship of any kind to have a child unless stated specifically in that generation.
You must have 1 child unless stated specifically for that generation.
You can get the plants you need from seed packets or the markets in Henford On Bagley if you cant find them out in the wild.
Plants CANNOT be sheltered at any time unless stated in that generation. I have tried to make it so you have at least 1 food & 1 flower blooming each season at the beginning. If you are allowed to shelter a plant, you will be able to continue to shelter said plant in future generations.
You must use Simple Living lot trait from Generation 2 through 9. Simple living is a bit hard at the beginning (Generation 1) and useless when you have over 100,000 simoleons (hopefully by Generation 10).
The use of vertical gardens is fine once you are in Generation 9. NOT until then!
If you are afraid of your Sim dying before their heir is a teen, save every time some major life event happens and/or when you get a new flower/plant. If your current sim dies and only children, infants, or newborns are left in the household you can go back to the last time saved – before they die if you don’t save your game when they die.
IMPORTANT STUFF
There are no color guidelines like there is in a berry challenge.
Yes, I repeated careers & traits. It was hard not to with this challenge being based on the plant collection.

If you want to have rows of plants and/or an orchard on your lot go for the biggest lot.
Regular or long life spans are recommended. Use short life span if you love chaos that much.
You can delete a community lot (park, bar, etc) if you want that lot for your legacy. Edit the lot before you buy a lot with your starting money and change the lot you want to residential.
Buy flour and sugar from the market stalls in Henford On Bagley..
Buy eggs & milk from Henford On Bagley until you buy a chicken and a cow/goat for mil in generation four.
When it says to start with the gardening skill, that means that is the first skill you purposefully learn – even before cooking.
Keep a keepsake box throughout & add anything of importance. REMINDER: You cannot take out items you add to the box.
Keep a storage box (nice ones are in Horse Ranch) for anything you want to keep for later. I call this a stash in Generation 10.
I will not tell you which plants need grafted to which to make a plant. I believe the fun in playing games like these it learning yourself whether it be from trial and error or using google to research it.
EXTRA FUN BITS
You want to add more into the challenge when there is a lull in game play? Here is a list for you based off things I have done when bored in game.
Become a werewolf, learn to resist the change, and collect moon petals.
Become a plant sim for a bit.
Get all the magic beans & grow a tree
Hop around on aspirations and see what is easy to earn you reward points.
Go to the vet, buy vet treats, and go to Deadgrass Isle in Brindleton Bay and befriend and/or heal strays.
Collect feathers, ores, etc.
Add rabbit stump & bird tree to your garden & become friends with the rabbits & birds (its not a requirement as it is a bit time consuming to do).
Add wild foxes lot trait & befriend foxes.
Sell your paintings on a sales board.
Write books and publish them.
Become a hacker and hack to earn money.
Download the SimDa dating app & have fun with that.
Become a friend to one or both werewolf packs.
Explore the tunnels in Moonwood Mill (you can do this as a regular sim).
Once you have grapes make wine.
Make a grave yard for your heirs and family.

Who knew this would be the beginning of a collection your family would be able to make a living off of eventually? You start off as a fast food employee. After one too many times of being told by customers you are horrible at your job, you think it will be easier as a retail employee. You where wrong and find your place as a barista. Coffee is life, especially as an adult.

Be sneaky! Make as much food as possible before you die once your aspiration is complete. The food will never go bad & future generations shouldn’t have to go hungry like you occasionally did as a child.

You can have a greenhouse, but none of the plants can be sheltered. If you have the greenhouse and blooming room kits use them to design & fill it up.
Get a chicken coop with at least 1 chicken.
Get at least one cow or goat goat for milk.

Thankfully your parent(s) still live with you & are helping you raise your kid(s)! You transfer all the plants you can from your garden to vertical gardens you designed at work.

If you finish the angling ace aspiration change to fabulously wealthy and work on it until you die.
Buy vertical gardens. Buy enough to move all plants that can grow in them. Buy 1 extra & keep it empty.
Move all plants that can be moved into your vertical gardens.
Move beehives (you should have at least 2) so that 1 is near your vertical gardens, and one is near the garden still in the ground.
Upgrade all vertical planters.
Make your empty vertical garden into a meat wall.
Buy a dumpster. Use it to dive for anything you can. Try not to let it over flow.
Make a room (or refurbish a room) for your fabricator & recycler.
If not upgraded, upgrade chicken coop with upgrade parts made with your fabricator. Do the same for any cow or lama sheds you have.
Finish grafting any plants needed to complete your collection of plants.
Do not sell any of your cowberries! You need them in case your cow plant dies.
Make only 1 batch of cowberry jam.
Have at least 1 cow plant. If your cow plant dies replant another one.
Have one of your family members (not you!) be eaten by a cow plant at least once. If you can milk their essence & drink it.

You plan on finishing your families garden, selling it, and becoming one of those occult sims. Which one? It depends on your mood at the time.

Max the criminal career. Choose the boss branch when asked to do so.
Let your animals die of old age if you want. You must take care of them still until they die.
Make sure your heir inherits the free services reward when the previous heir dies.
Have only 1 money tree that is in your greenhouse. Keep 1 ’seed’ of your money tree at all times in your inventory or hidden stash.
Have only 1 death flower in your green house, and 1 in everyone’s inventory in case of emergencies.
Sell your dumpster, fabricator, & recycler as a packaged deal after your parent(s) die to a sibling or friend who recycles
Have at least 1 cow plant. If your cow plant dies replant another one.
Let the cow plant die if you want. If kept alive let it eat your enemies. If kept alive keep cowberries to plant if needed.
Have a sim (not you!) be eaten by a cow plant at least once a week. If you can, milk their essence & drink it.
Cheat in a glowfruit & forbidden fruit. Easiest way is with UI Cheats mod.
Become a vampire, mermaid, spell caster, or werewolf.
