Surprisingly, despite living right by the San Bernardino National Forest all my life, I never heard many forest tales. Being taught at school what to do should a bear come up to you was enough to keep me out of the woods.
This story would have done the job while I was a child. However, it would have made me go into the woods as a teenager just to see if I could find the bridge. This story is well written and has me thinking days later. It was the right amount of details for the length.
