Review:
I shouldn't have waited to review this book, more the next 2 in the series until now. It's all just one story now in my head. I know I wasn't a fan of the first one, but I decided to give this series another chance as I was in a reading challenge and wanted something short to listen to that I could listen to on double speed while playing video games.
I am so glad I gave this series another try! Once I just could sit and meditate (yes, playing World of Warcraft soothes me to almost be on auto pilot) it sunk into me that Murderbot just wanted to be who they where. They also wanted to figure out who they where. Like a lot of folks. Murderbot is going to be (I haven't read more then 4 books into the series) the hero for their kind.
I really like how Murderbot is trying to find out what happened. I find it hilarious that ART was (still is?) their first friend. Everyone needs an ART in their life really. I really enjoy how along the way to figure out what happened and who they are Murderbot helps folks. It is as if they are repaying a debt they don't really realize they have (although self-imposed), let alone paying for it all.
Goodreads Description:
It has a dark past--one in which a number of humans were killed. A past that caused it to christen itself “Murderbot." But it has only vague memories of the massacre that spawned that title, and it wants to know more. Teaming up with a Research Transport vessel named ART (you don’t want to know what the “A” stands for), Murderbot heads to the mining facility where it went rogue. What it discovers will forever change the way it thinks.
