Review:
Finally getting around to writing my review!
I don't normally read these sorts of books - mystery & thrillers. But, I wanted to get the gist of the series but not read one of the other books. For what it is, it was a good story. It sure broke up the monotony from my typical reading habits & that was a good thing. I can see why this series is popular. I can see why it was made into a TV/streaming series just by this book alone.
Will I read the rest of the series? Probably not. I stopped reading books & watching series based on the books after Stephen Kings The Dome. I don't want that sort of disappointment ever again. Since I see myself watching the series rather then reading it, I won't read the rest of the books. With that being said, I am glad I read this as it led me to a series to watch when I had lost hope for TV/streaming series.
Goodreads Description:
Find out where it all started for Pip in this prequel novella to the A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.
Pippa Fitz-Amobi is not in the mood for her friend's murder mystery party. Especially one that involves 1920's fancy dress and pretending that their town, Little Kilton, is an island called Joy. But when the game begins, Pip finds herself drawn into the make-believe world of intrigue, deception and murder. But as Pip plays detective, teasing out the identity of the killer clue-by-clue, the murder of the fictional Reginald Remy isn't the only case on her mind ... Contains mature content, for older readers.
