Review:
I really love how I've ended up loving a couple cozy books. Never thought I would. Each books of Becky Chambers I read, it still astounds me I'm willing reading a cozy book.
I'm intrigued by this series. I don't usually read ahead to see how the story goes in the next books to see how they are connected, so if I'm off on how this goes, then that is why. I am guessing that the next books will follow a similar fashion and will be stories stemming off book 1 of the series. It would seem so as this is about Lovelace from the Wayfarer, Pepper, & Blue.
It was a bit disconcerting at first when we went from Lovelace to Pepper's past. Once you got the idea that was how the book was going it became the only way Pepper's past could have been told. The end came together fast but yet it was just right. I hope we can learn more about OWL.
Goodreads Description:
Lovelace was once merely a ship's artificial intelligence. When she wakes up in an new body, following a total system shut-down and reboot, she has no memory of what came before. As Lovelace learns to negotiate the universe and discover who she is, she makes friends with Pepper, an excitable engineer, who's determined to help her learn and grow.
Together, Pepper and Lovey will discover that no matter how vast space is, two people can fill it together.
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet introduced readers to the incredible world of Rosemary Harper, a young woman with a restless soul and secrets to keep. When she joined the crew of the Wayfarer, an intergalactic ship, she got more than she bargained for - and learned to live with, and love, her rag-tag collection of crewmates.
A Closed and Common Orbit is the stand-alone sequel to Becky Chambers' beloved debut novel The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet and is perfect for fans of Firefly, Joss Whedon, Mass Effect and Star Wars.
